Latrobe Valley Community Choir

Traralgon - Mondays from 7pm

Latrobe Valley Community Choir (LVCC) is a dedicated, fun loving ensemble of singers based in the Latrobe Valley that love to sing!

LVCC was formed in 2013 in response to Opera Australia’s Community Partnerships Program in conjunction with Dr Jonathon Welch AM and the School of Hard Knocks.  This was an arts/community engagement project supported and funded by Latrobe City Council which culminated in a massed choir performance at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl with Australian Opera singers and the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra on 23 November 2013.

The project was so successful that participants decided to continue as an independent, primarily self-funded group of passionate singers. LVCC has grown to a base subscription of over 40 members. LVCC is a “project based” choir, closely linked to Play It Forward which provides opportunities for LVCC members to participate in metropolitan performances, along with providing local performances in the Latrobe Valley.

LVCC aims to continue to engage residents within the Latrobe City to sing together to build better connections, and to enjoy social interaction through a structured choral program. LVCC encourages membership from all community members, no audition required.

Voices of Casey

Berwick - Mondays from 7pm

Voices of Casey (originally known as the City of Casey Project Choir) was created in 2013 for Opera Australia’s Community Partnerships Program in conjunction with Dr Jonathon Welch AM and the School of Hard Knocks.

Voices of Casey has participated in Casey, Cranbourne Secondary College, Hampton Park Baptist Church, Bunjil Place and Melbourne City events. They were proud to be invited to perform on the opening night of the beautiful facilities of Bunjil Place, where, in conjunction with participants from La Trobe and Cranbourne, they initiated the stage in October 2017.

This is a non-auditioned choir, attracting enthusiastic amateurs as well as seasoned singers. Our repertoire includes well known classics, pop songs and contemporary classics. Members are all volunteers, giving of their time and fundraising efforts to enable weekly rehearsals and performances throughout the year.

Now in partnership with Play It Forward, the Voices of Casey membership is drawn from the City of Casey and surrounding suburbs. Voices of Casey is always open to new singers, especially men, to share our fun, friendship and most of all the joy of singing together.
