My Valley, My Home

Tuesday 24 November

We couldn’t be more proud to launch the World premiere of our exciting new music video “My Valley, My Home” with original music and lyrics composed by our award winning Artistic Director - conductor, singer and composer Jonathon Welch AM.

The lyrics for “My Valley, My Home” were inspired by a conversation Welch had in 2018. with the students at Morwell Central Primary School and members of the award winning Latrobe Valley Community Choir.

"Every voice you hear on this video is a resident of Latrobe Valley and they were all recorded entirely digitally during the lockdown in Victoria this year.

I really wanted to capture the beauty of the Latrobe Valley region, the amazing warmth, talent and resilience of the community and the pride they have choosing to live there.

I really hope this song will become an anthem of pride for Latrobe Valley in years to come, and everyone will sing it" said Welch.

We are truly grateful to the amazing support that all the Latrobe Valley Community has shown for this project, and it would not have been possible without funding support from the Latrobe Health Assembly, working together within the Latrobe Health Innovation Zone.

We are also indebted to our amazing artistic and admin teams at Play It Forward, in particular the tireless dedication and passion of our Project Manager and local Latrobe Valley resident - Tineke Westwood.

“My valley, my home - there is no place I’d rather call my own” ❤️

VOICES OF CASEY - singing out against family violence

It gives us the greatest honour to release our first virtual video project singing out against family violence.

We are so grateful to each and every one of our members for their commitment to this project, with the support of all our Play It Forward brothers and sisters in song, THECHO!R Fan Page and special guests the Divine Divas of Sunbury/Sunbury Divas who all gave their beautiful voices to unite in this cause.

This stunning music video was created with so much love by our Founding Artistic Director Jonathon Welch AM, video and audio editor extraordinaire Adam Przewlocki, the Play It Forward admin team, and was made possible thanks to funding support from the City of Casey.

Even a pandemic hasn’t stopped us from singing together and continuing to keep us connected through our voices and love of music!
