REVERSE ANTHEM

Play It Forward has been incredibly honoured to work with the late Kate Daws and Stewart Russell, creators of REVERSE ANTHEM and our Founding Artistic Director, Jonathon Welch AM, who was the composer and music director, along with Amrita Hepi and Antuong Nguyen to help realise this first iteration of the REVERSE ANTHEM project on film.
We dedicate this to every one who has ever felt our Anthem doesn’t represent them, and to all those voices that have been silenced in the process.
We hope this art work will now be part of the conversation towards healing our Nation as part of NAIDOC Week - and beyond.
You can watch the film at 5.15PM Fed Square each night this week until Sunday 11 July as part of NAIDOC Week. REVERSE ANTHEM was commissioned by RISING.
ECOTORIO - ‘The Protest’

Play It Forward is proud to launch the World premiere of our ground breaking new massed choral work and virtual music video of the first movement from ECOTORIO - 'The Protest', to commemorate Earth Day today - Thursday April 22, 2021.
Commissioned by Play It Forward in 2019, ECOTORIO was conceived by our founding artistic director Jonathon Welch AM, and has been composed in collaboration with Dave Newington, International Tour Conductor for the global singing sensations, the Ten Tenors.
ECOTORIO aims to address some of the major climate disasters around the world and features singers from Australia, USA, UK and Canada, with audio created by Stephen Blackburn, videography by Tom Marley and instrumentalists James Hodson and Dave Newington.
Each movement of ECOTORIO will be released as a virtual music video over the next 18 months, with the first live performance of the full work scheduled to be performed in Melbourne in 2022.

A Million Dreams

What a great way to start 2021 with our Western Health Singer’s first virtual music video - A Million Dreams – from the movie The Greatest Show Man.
The production of this video has been made possible thanks to funding support from Western Health, all the Play It Forward admin team, our Artistic Director Jonathon Welch AM, conductor of Western Health and Video & Audio Engineer of the video Adam Przewlocki and the wonderful Western Health’s Singers.
We have a million dreams, projects and songs this year and we can’t wait to share them with you throughout 2021!
